Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge

We
are currently planning to complete ten to twenty rebuild projects in April of 2011. To be
considered for future Rebuild Events, applications must be completed in their
entirety and submitted with all required supporting documentation. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Thank you for your interest in Rebuilding
Together Baton Rouge. Please do not call regarding the status of your
application. Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge is run 100% by our volunteers and
we simply do not have the resources to answer questions from the hundreds of
applicants. Please be patient with our
process and the final status of your application will be communicated to you by
phone or by mail.
Rebuilding
Together is a non-profit organization supported entirely by
contributions of
labor, material and money. We are
dedicated to repairing homes of those who, due to financial hardship,
age,
and/or disability, cannot do the work themselves. Skilled and unskilled
volunteers, along with able-bodied members of the recipient’s family and
friends, complete the repairs at no cost to the homeowner
To be
eligible for consideration in the program, you must:
- Be
at least 62 years old or have someone living in
your household who currently is receiving Social Security
disability;
- Own
and live in your home;
- Have
your home insured under a homeowner’s policy; and
- Be
low income per the HUD published guilde lines for East Baton Rouge Parish. Income is based on the number of persons living in the household. (One person - $33,950, Family
of 2 - $38,800,
Family of 3 - $43,650, Family of 4 - $48,500).
Volunteers
provide improvements that enhance the safety and comfort of your home.
Because
it is primarily a short-term project, major structural repairs are not
possible. Also, we need you to understand that time
constraints
may prevent the volunteers from accomplishing everything that you would
like to
have done in your home.
